Biography Karl McGoldrick

Karl has well over 30 years of international business experience spanning Europe, Asia and the USA. He started with corporates in the semiconductor industry, shifting 20 years ago to high tech startups. He has extensive experience as founder, co-founder or angel investor/director in bringing new technologies from idea to product scale. These include subsidiaries, spin-outs, M&A as well as greenfield starts, while raising over €60million of funding.

Today Karl is CEO of LionVolt, a spin-out of TNO at Holst Centre. LionVolt was founded in the spring of 2020 with the mission to develop and scale 3D solid-state batteries that are safe and sustainable while delivering high performance and fast charging.
