Biography Ton van Mol

Director TNO at Holst Centre

Ton van Mol graduated with honors from Eindhoven University of Technology in Chemical Technology in 1997, and received his PhD in the area of Thin film technology in 2001. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories (Livermore) as visiting scientist and joined TNO in 2003 as senior scientist.

In 2005, Ton helped set-up the open innovation initiative between IMEC and TNO called Holst Centre, where he had various roles, such as program manager and Partnership Director, before he became managing director in 2015. In 2019, Ton joined the management team of TNO High Tech Industry, where next to Holst Centre, he is responsible for the activities in chip packaging and personalized food and pharma printing.

In 2021, Ton helped set up the Photonic Integration Technology Centre (PITC), a collaboration between the universities of technology in Eindhoven and Twente and photon delta, and is currently also the managing director of PITC.
