Founded in 2005 as a Joint Innovation Initiative between imec and TNO, Holst Centre creates something most organisations can’t replicate: fluency in both cutting-edge research and the challenges of practical implementation. Named after a pioneer
Holst Centre is named after Gilles Holst, renowned physicist and the first Director of Philips’ NatLab. Holst recognised the power of applied sciences to benefit both industry and society. He believed in open collaboration and research that transcends disciplinary boundaries. Today, in the centre that bears his name, more than 250 innovative minds, representing more than 30 nationalities, come together at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven to turn innovation into direct market impact.
